Whether it's the mountains we ski or the coastlines we fish, these wild places deserve our respect. As Continuum grows, we are committed to supporting organizations that help preserve these environments and make it possible for others to experience them safely and responsibly.

Supporting Mountain Safety

For many skiers and snowboarders, there comes a point when the resort boundary is no longer enough. The desire to explore untouched snow, bigger mountains, and the vast backcountry is what eventually draws many of us toward ski touring, cat skiing, and heli skiing. That journey is exciting, but it also comes with greater responsibility.

For many Canadians, Avalanche Canada is where that journey begins.

Through avalanche forecasts, educational resources, public awareness programs, and tools like the Mountain Information Network (MIN), Avalanche Canada has helped generations of backcountry users replace uncertainty with knowledge. Their work gives skiers, riders, guides, and recreationists the information they need to make better decisions in avalanche terrain. They also play a vital role in advancing avalanche forecasting, sharing observations from across the province, and supporting a culture of continuous learning within Canada's mountain community.

Behind that work is the Avalanche Canada Foundation, whose fundraising helps make these programs possible. From supporting public avalanche forecasting and research to initiatives like the Avalanche Canada Schools Program—which introduces students to avalanche awareness and responsible decision-making—the Foundation is helping ensure future generations have access to the same education that has benefited so many of us.

Continuum Travel supports the Avalanche Canada Foundation because their work has shaped our own journey in the mountains. Like many backcountry skiers, we learned by studying avalanche bulletins, taking avalanche education courses, and relying on Avalanche Canada's daily forecasts before heading into the field. Today, we continue to use those same resources throughout the winter as we plan our own days in the mountains and recommend experiences to our clients.

By supporting the Avalanche Canada Foundation, we hope to help future generations discover British Columbia's incredible backcountry with the same respect, education, and appreciation that inspired us.
